Voting Member: Matt Butler
We are pleased to introduce one of the Hood County Stampede’s newest voting members, Matt Butler.
As a voting member, Matt plays an integral role in shaping the strategic direction and future of the Hood County Stampede. Matt’s leadership, experience, and dedication to service are a welcome addition to our team.
Matt is a proud native Texan, with deep family roots tracing back to his 4th great-grandfather, who captured Santa Anna in 1836 after the battle of San Jacinto. Matt is happily married to his wife of 10 years, Jamie, and together they have a 3-year-old daughter, Olivia. His family is the light of his life, and even amongst the chaos of life, Jamie and little Olivia never fail to bring a smile to Matt’s face.

Career, Community, and Interests
Professionally, Matt serves as the Director of Advisor Recruiting at First Command Financial Services, Inc. – an organization founded in 1958 with a mission to improve the financial well-being of service members and their families. In his role, Matt leads operations to source, select, and qualify candidates pursuing careers as financial advisors.
Matt is a member of Anchor Fellowship Church in Granbury, where faith plays a central role in his and his family’s life. He also volunteers with several veteran transition organizations, helping former service members with resume writing and interview preparation.
In his spare time, you’ll find Matt golfing or traveling with friends and family.
Why Matt Joined the HCS Board
Matt was drawn to the Hood County Stampede by the passion and commitment he saw in Wes, Francie, and the other board members. Growing up showing horses and livestock, Matt understands firsthand the positive impact agriculture and rodeo can have on youth. He believes these experiences instill a strong sense of purpose and responsibility and through his role on the HCS board, he is honored to help raise awareness.
We are looking forward to Matt’s contribution and the new perspective he’s bringing to our team. His energy and passion for lifting up the local community makes for a great fit to serving our mission. Be sure to welcome him if you cross paths in town or see him working hard at the rodeo this year!
