Meet the Hood County Stampede Team: Sarah Deeds-Riley

Get to know the hardworking team behind the scenes at the Hood County Stampede! Our next highlight in our Meet The Team series, introducing Sarah Deeds-Riley.

Voting Member: Sarah Deeds-Riley

We are excited to introduce Sarah Riley, one of two new additions to the Hood County Stampede Board of Directors this year. Sarah is joining the board as a new voting member. Her deep community ties and passion for giving back brings tremendous value to our efforts.

Sarah has lived in Hood County for almost 40 years. Alongside her husband Schaef and their son Carter (18), she’s built strong roots in the Granbury community. Her decision to join the Hood County Stampede Board of Directors was a natural one. She was inspired by both the organization’s impact and her personal connection to the area.

When asked about what reasons led her to joining the Hood County Stampede team, Sarah went on to say…

“I was drawn to the Hood County Stampede’s mission. They take a proactive role in making a meaningful impact for our community. They continue to contribute to different charity organizations and identify unmet needs for children here in the local community as well as provide scholarships for local students. I love and am wholeheartedly on board knowing that the funds raised here stay here.”

Sarah went on talking about believing in the vision for the annual rodeo hosted in the beginning of the summer. Sarah stated,

“Rodeo is such an amazing art/sport requiring an immense amount of grit, strength, and talent. I am proud to be part of this group that has been instrumental in bringing Western sports back to Granbury. Not only do Wes and Francie lead the organization in hosting a world-class event, but they’ve always been adamant about ensuring it remains an affordable activity you can bring your whole family to enjoy. Granbury has needed this for a long time and I am excited to join the team to serve the community in this capacity.”

Sarah is a nurse by training and currently serves as the National Emergency Department Operations Leader for Ascension Health, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit health systems.

Additionally, Sarah serves on the board for our 2020 Hood County Stampede beneficiary, Hood County Children’s Charity Fund, further demonstrating her dedication to making a meaningful impact locally. Her professional expertise, leadership, and proven commitment to the community makes her an invaluable asset to our team. We are looking forward to her contributions for our goals and growth as we continue to expand our impact, becoming a credible and influential nonprofit organization serving Hood County.

If you cross paths with Sarah out and about around town or behind the scenes at a HCS event be sure to say hello and express your appreciation. Her commitment to serving local kids, giving back, and pushing our mission forward is something we’re deeply grateful for. The Hood County Stampede is powered by people like Sarah who give their time, talent, and heart to make a real difference right here in our community.
